The Air Force Center of Excellence: Developing ROMS and digital twins for complex systems with accuracy
This piece explores research gains within the University of Michigan’s Aerospace Engineering department. I was given the general topic and conducted interviews and research to create a piece suitable for an audience knowledgeable in the field but not specialists.
A Year at Matthaei
Written for the Ann Arbor City Guide, this explores the four seasons at the University of Michigan’s Matthaei Botanical Gardens. Originally, I wrote this with the feel of a busy day page in a Richard Scarry book with overt connections between each vignette, but my editor preferred a simpler, straightforward presentation and I obliged. I am flexible with revisions to suit publication needs.
Drowned out: Is climate change making the ocean a noisier place?
This piece, produced for Oceana, explores climate change and ocean life through chemistry. The editor put out a general call for ideas. I pitched the concept, garnered the interviews, and did the research.

Creative Writing
One each for essay, short story, and poem. It’s been awhile since I’ve submitted stories or poems. I’m planning to start submitting again, so hopefully more recent examples will replace these over the next year.
